EDGARDO CINTRON & THE INCABAND CELEBRATES THE MUSIC OF SANTANA / Nauti Spirits Distillery Outdoor Stage / Saturday, Oct.24, 2:15-3:30pm
The Story
Percussionist Edgardo Cintron, a veteran of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival, is known as much for his affable personality and generous spirit as for his tasty musicianship. Born on August28, 1958 in Fort Riley, Kan., he attributes his musical influences to his father, Pablo, who played guitar in the U.S. military band and also to Charlie Parker, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana and Tito Puente. By the age of five, Edgardo was studying French horn and guitar, and later, percussion, all under his father’s direction.
The Sound
This group of excellent seasoned musicians pays honor to one of the most influential guitarists the music industry and world has ever known, Carlos Santana. Starting 40 years ago in Woodstock — and eight Grammy’s later — Santana has placed Latin rock, Latin funk and Latin jazz on the forefront of the music industry. Be prepared to groove to Santana chestnuts like, “Oye Como Va,” “Evil Ways,” “Black Magic Woman” and so many more.
