THE STORY:

The New Philly Sound 2025, sponsored by The Heart of Jazz, brings together young musicians who represent both the city’s legacy and its future. Formed by saxophonist Aidan McKeon at the request of Heart of Jazz board member Joe Monaghan, The New Philly Sound artists are some of the finest university student jazz musicians who have roots in the greater Philadelphia area. They represent the spirit of The Heart of Jazz: equity, access, and authentic performance rooted in community.
