The Story
Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, the award-winning Brass Queens are a female-led brass band featuring all-female horns with a sound that sits right at the intersection of the Big Apple and the Big Easy. Their music is deeply inspired by and pays homage to the New Orleans brass band tradition while injecting the upbeat, multifaceted energy of their New York home into each performance. Brass Queens tour regularly across the country and internationally, increasing the visibility of female musicians in the industry.
The Sound
With the New Orleans Brass Band tradition at its core, their latest album, 'Hot Tub Sessions Vol. I,' is spiced with a wide range of musical influences, including balkan, mambo, film scores, pop, and classic rock. Expanding on the signature sound that already defined Brass Queens, this album showcases their versatility by delivering intricate horn lines, driving grooves, and their ability to construct a wall of sound. Vol. I tells their story so far, through triumphant anthems, joyous odes to friendship, and danceable tunes representative of their high-energy performance style.
